The company has existed since 1945. That was the year of the foundation of
a complex of hydroelectric power stations which was then called "Państwowe
Przedsiębiorstwo Zespołu Elektrowni Wodnych" [The State-Owned Enterprise
of Hydroelectric Power Stations] with ZEOZ in Poznań as the superior unit.
The management was seated in the present ZEW Jastrowie and managed the hydroelectric
power stations in Herby, Łomczewo, Podgaje, Jastrowie, Ptusza, Dobrzyca and in Koszyce.
In 1995 ZEW Jastrowie was subordinated to the Industrial Plant of Electric Networks
in Białogard ZEOZ Poznań. The Power Plants of Rosnowo, Niedalino and Borowo joined
the network simultaneously. As the result of the administrative changes in 1975,
after creating the province of Piła, ZEW started its activity under the superveillance
of the Industrial Power Plant in Poznań, the present "Energetyka Poznańska S.A."
[Poznań Power Industry Co.].
Since then the full name of our company has been: Energetyka Poznańska Zakład
Elektrowni Wodnych Ltd. [Poznań Power Industry Hydroelectric Power Stations' Complex Ltd.].

The basis of our activity is producing energy of the cleanest shape (without water).
We exploit five old power plants on The River Gwda. Those structures have been preserved
in an ideal condition, as the result of the hard work, persistence and commitment of our staff,
who activated the power plants in 1945. Apart from manufacturing the "clean energy", those
structures also produce the so called "positive technological effect", i.e. retention. What's
more, they provide the water flowing through turbines with oxygen and enrich the environment
with tourist values and create a paradise for anglers.
In 1996, taking into account the needs of our clients, we developed the services in
the field of energy saving, i.e. thermo renovation of structures.
Our company, acting within the Holding of "Energetyka Poznańska S.A.", at present
the Power Plants' Association ENEA Co., wishes to contribute to the economical development
of the region, taking care of the beauty of the landscape and the pureness of our natural environment.
